Some teacher told us there is a locked mode or lockdown mode option that once enabled he specifically said he will get notified whenever a student changes the tab or switches to another app.
You might be thinking “Can google forms see if you switch tabs?”
No, they can’t. (unless they are using a spy software, but that’s a way bigger issue). But sometimes it’s easy to tell if a person changes between tabs based on the light reflection on their face/eyes. If you see a sudden change of light in the participant’s face, they are probably checking other tabs :).
Another popular inquiry is “Do Google Forms know when you open a new tab?”.
Our answer is that Unless you submit an answer no they don’t see who has opened it up there is also certain google forms that lock so you can’t open other tabs so once you open it you have to submit your answer before you open another tab. If not your answers won’t save. But those always come with a notice prior to opening up the form.
This begs the inquiry “Can Google see what you do when you open another tab?”
Thus if you open up another tab with Google or any other non-webcourses site, they can’t see what you do. Note, however, that they can (kind of) tell that you’ve left the page. They can see that the page no longer has a mouse hovering over it, for example, or that nothing is being interacted with.
How do teachers know when you switch tabs on Google Meet?
Hence this possibility can be safely eliminated. A more sensible explanation is that the teacher is knowing when you switch tabs on Google Meet either by studying your facial expressions or changes in the light from the laptop screen being reflected onto your face.
Can Google Forms see where you are when you click off?
Idk about google form, but they definitely can on canvas They can make it where you can’t switch tabs but they can’t see if you do switch tabs with this setting off On canvas they can see when you click off and how long you’re off for (so if it’s an accident dont worry) but can’t tell where you went to look.
Can my teacher see what I search on Google Forms?
Unless the district views your search history For google forms, I’m pretty sure teachers can see if you click off the lock mode (if your teacher activates it) before the form is completed if you have a district-provided chromebook.
