Waze also has a speedometer function that helps monitor your driving speed. This feature comes with optional audible alerts when you exceed the speed limit. The speedometer function is an optional feature that you can turn on, or off if you would rather not have the speeding alerts.
One way to think about this is speed cameras record the time a car enters and exits a particular area, and then calculate its average speed. To help drivers comply with speed limits and drive safely, Waze alerts you before you enter a speed camera zone. As you approach an area that has a speed camera, an alert appears on the left side of your screen.
While we were researching we ran into the inquiry “What is the speedometer function on Waze?”.
The speedometer function is an optional feature that you can turn on, or off if you would rather not have the speeding alerts. Waze enables different users to alert each other about the traffic and prevailing road conditions in their area.
If no speed is set ( 0 mph ) the Wazer will always receive an audible warning. In variable speed limit areas the speed of the camera mapped in Waze should be set to the maximum permitted speed (e. g. 70mph for the M42). Red Light Cameras should always be set to 0mph to ensure they always alert in the app.

How does Waze use traffic data?
Traffic data from actual wazers is used in routing over all other segment types. Traffic data is stored for every way out of each segment. As you drive, the Waze app (client) on your mobile device collects data about your GPS location and when you were there. It sends that data to the Waze server.
Does Waze show historical trip data?
Most GPS devices have this feature where they will show distance traveled, time, avg and max speed. Does Waze have this? Not using the app on your device. But you can view your history using a web browser.
This of course begs the query “How accurate is the data Waze collects on drivable segments?”
This data is collected even on drivable segment types for which the Waze routing server does not use that data. Traffic data collected on short segments (less than 19.69 ft (6 m)) is less accurate.
Is the Waze mileage tracker any good?
This works fine if you wish to track your mileage, and don’t cover a lot of business miles. But it requires that you are comfortable with manually retrieving your mileage records from the app. However, the Waze mileage tracker is not automated. You need to always remember to have your Waze app running whenever you wish to track your miles.
Does Waze look the same on Android and iPhone?
And yes, the settings are identical on both phones so that is ruled out. The first two images is what Waze looked like before (and how I want it) and the second to images is how it looks like now on the new phone. Is Waze better on Android?
This begs the query “Is Waze only for white people?”
I’m logged into Waze. The app only works for white people. If you’re using an Android, Google saves that data under your account in Maps. Here’s a link: One of the residential streets in the local neighborhood is experiencing more traffic – rather large trucks, a vehicle carrier etc.
