Figma and Adobe XD both are vector graphics editing tool, but Figma is a software or tool which primarily worked on the web platform and developed by Figma. You can enable its some of the additional offline features by different desktop applications while Adobe XD works on both web and mobile apps as a designing tool of vector graphics.

One answer is that figma is an online design and prototyping software that offers real-time collaboration. Adobe XD, on the other hand, offers a well-designed UI that integrates deeply with other Adobe apps. Both Figma and Adobe XD look robust on the outside but have distinct features that make it suitable for a specific audience.

XD is limited to color and character styles while Figma can create styles for effects like shadows and blurs too. Using the saved styles is intuitive in Figma, and they can be applied flexibly to strokes and characters interchangeably too. Using styles in Figma.

That’s until two new contenders surfaced to challenge the throne—Figma and Adobe XD. Both Figma and Adobe XD apps are not only developed by industry leaders but offer some amazing features that managed to steal many users away from Sketch. Of course, Sketch is still one of the best UX design tools available today as well.

This has slowly been changing in the recent years with more and more tools coming out that support Windows, or are browser based. Two of these tools are Figma and Adobe XD. I started using Figma in 2017, through the recommendations of my friend. I started using Adobe XD for work about 3 months ago.

Which is the best design software for Adobe XD?

Figma offers real-time collaboration. Adobe XD has promised this feature since November 2016, but still no news yet. This feature makes working with other people easy peasy lemon squeezy. It sure saves a lot of time as well. Other collaborative features such as specs and design libraries will be discussed later.

Figma and Adobe XD have been in competition since XD’s release in 2016. At first that competition wasn’t very stiff, with XD’s early releases missing a lot of key features, but things have changed over these past few years.
