The bigger problem is that github is not going to be the sole vector for viruses and malware. Your computer could have an unpatched zero-day exploit which lets someone execute remote instructions and load in root kits or other malware.
There are no actual compiled viruses in this repository, but if you do compile anything it is possibly, though rather unlikely, that you will damage your computer. Don’t do that.
