To get your team up and running in Microsoft Teams, create a team, add people, and add channels. Select Join or create a team. This is where you create your own team, or discover existing ones. Select Create team to create a new team. Give the team a name and add a short description if you like.
If you have existing teams or Office 365 groups you want to use as a template for this new team, click “Create From” and then select the team or group. You can click “What’s a Team? ” to open an official Microsoft web page that will give you more details about how teams and channels work .
How do I create a team?
To create a team, click Join or create a team. This is where you create your own team, or discover existing ones. We’ll create a new one here. Give the team a name and add a short description if you like.
How do I use Microsoft Teams as an admin?
As an admin, you can create and manage teams and channels in the Teams client or the Microsoft Teams admin center. You can create teams as public or private. You can also create an org-wide team. Anyone using Teams in your organization can join a public team. For private teams, team owners manage team membership.
How do I set up a Microsoft Teams meeting?
You can set up your Microsoft Teams meeting either through the Teams app or Microsoft Outlook. The meeting looks the same both ways. You can decide which you want to use based on what makes the most sense to your company.
All you need to join a Teams meeting is a link. Select Join Microsoft Teams Meeting in your meeting invite to be taken to a page where you can choose to either join on the web or download the desktop app. If you already have the Teams app, the meeting will open there automatically.
