The JIRA full form is actually inherited from the Japanese word “Gojira” which means “Godzilla”. The basic use of this tool is to track issue and bugs related to your software and Mobile apps. It is also used for project management.
This begs the question “What is Jira and how does it work?”
Jira is a software application used for issue tracking and project management. The tool, developed by the Australian software company Atlassian, has become widely used by agile development teams to track bugs, stories, epics, and other tasks.
When I was writing we ran into the question “Why Jira is the best for bug tracking?”.
The powerful workflow engine of JIRA is strong enough to assign the bugs automatically and then prioritize them as per the need for the project. By doing this, the software is helping the teams to track the bugs until the completion of the project. As stated earlier, JIRA was previously designed for bug and issue tracking.
Atlassian themselves were also targeted as part of the same attack and admitted that a legacy database with passwords stored in plain text had been compromised. When launched in 2002, Jira was purely issue tracking software, targeted at software developers. The app was later adopted by non-IT organizations as a project management tool.
Jira Software integrates with first- and third-party tools throughout the Dev. Ops lifecycle, including code and version control tools like Bitbucket, Git. Hub, and Gitlab, documentation and knowledge management tools like Confluence, and monitoring and operating tools like Opsgenie.
Does asana integrate with jira?
The Asana for Jira integration allows business and product teams that plan work in Asana to collaborate and work seamlessly with engineering and technical teams who execute work in Jira.
Asana offers a whole lot of power and oversight when used correctly, and it blows Jira out of the water in this regard. Asana’s kanban board is great if you want to plan and track tasks, and it’s prettier than Jira’s to boot.
A question we ran across in our research was “How do I create a Jira issue from a task in asana?”.
From a task in Asana, users can create a new Jira Issue directly in Asana, or easily link to an existing Jira issue. We support all Jira Software issue types, including: Bug, Epic, Subtask, Story and Task.
