A Slack workspace has a single Primary Owner. Only this person can delete the workspace or transfer ownership to someone else.
You can think of them as subsections within a workspace. Slack channels are found on the left sidebar of a Slack workspace page. Public channel names are next to a “#” symbol and private channel names are next to a lock symbol.
To take action on a channel, click the three dots icon to the right of the channel name and select an option. Make and save your changes. Slack will post a message to the channel to let members know what action was taken by which owner or admin. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
Can slack owners see private channels?
According to @Slack. HQ (the official Slack twitter account), “owners can only see the private channels that they are a member of”. There is workaround though. This begs the query “Can an admin see my messages in slack?”
IIRC, the latest version of Slack allows the Admins to see user messages. They can do so by viewing/ using the cpliance export feature. If it’s something of a concern to you, then perhaps you should keep your private conversations “private” by not PMing over Slack.
