Is slack down right now?

Last Updated 51 seconds ago: Slack is a cloud-based set of proprietary collaboration tools and services. It’s meant for teams and workplaces, can be used across multiple devices and platforms. At the moment, we haven’t detected any problems at Slack.

Services like Slack, Imgur and the Epic Games Store is down for some users. The company confirmed the outages and that it was working to fix the issues. @fevered Slack is having issues, which means it is time to go on holiday early right? @sillywampa AWS having issues again, which means so is half the internet, including slack.

OK, before you get too excited Slack is definitely not back 100%. Some of my colleagues are able to post now (as am I), but some aren’t. And some can’t log in at all. It’s all rather confused.

What is slacking off?

How do slack reports indicate an outage?

The following chart shows the number of reports that we have received about Slack by time of day over the past 24 hours. An outage is determined when the number of reports are higher than the baseline, represented by the red line.

Some were slacking for purely selfish reasons, because they felt the work or certain work assignments, did not refer to them or no sense. Others did so with a vengeance in the company or the boss, and still some others had more ideological reasons they feel they do not want to contribute to a society that exploits.

Is slack good or bad for your team?

Slack allows for async meetings, which helps with productivity and uninterrupted workflow. While some in-person meetings are valuable, Slack allows you to update your team at their and your convenience, rather than at a certain time every day or week.

Slack had awesome search if you were looking for something very specific like a file, but there was no way to get insight into what was happening in any given channel without manually skimming through it. That led to a frustrating contradiction: In theory, everyone on the team had access to all the communication that happened in public channels.
