Smartsheet does not allow multiple tabs per sheet like Excel and Google Sheets do. Though they are a spreadsheet their system has a lot more stuff happening on the backend.
If you have multiple tabs you’d like to import to Smartsheet: Import the workbook into Smartsheet once to create a new sheet, as described above. Go back to the Excel file and move a different tab into the left-most position by clicking on it and dragging it to the left. Save the Excel file, and import it to Smartsheet again.
Can I use Smartsheet across multiple browser tabs?
Beginning on the release day, we will no longer support tabs directly in Smartsheet. Instead, the introduction of direct links will make it easier than ever to use Smartsheet across multiple browser tabs. Toggling between your work will be faster because each item will only need to be loaded once.

Keep Sheets and Other Items Organized in a Folder. Folders allow you to organize Smartsheet items (sheets, reports, dashboards, and so on). Folders can’t be shared and are private to you, even if their contents are shared with others. You can move sheets between folders without affecting the access collaborators have to your sheets.
What’s new in the Smartsheet app?
The new navigation menu will give you continuous access to your most recent items, your favorites, the Home screen, and the Solution Center. The Solution Center is the place to kick off your new work: click on its icon when you want to download templates, create new Smartsheet items from scratch, or import data.
Importing a file converts it into a format that will work in Smartsheet. If importing a file that uses functionality not provided in Smartsheet (such as merged cells, multiple tabs or cell borders ), this functionality won’t be included in the sheet.
