How do vision plans work?

Vision plans provide limited services for eye health wellness exams. It is a benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and / or contact lenses at a reduced cost. These plans are NOT insurances but solely arranged discount programs.

The term “vision insurance” is commonly used to describe health and wellness plans designed to reduce your costs for routine preventive eye care (eye exams) and prescription eyewear (eyeglasses and contact lenses). Some vision plans also offer discounts on elective vision correction surgery, such as LASIK and PRK.

What is a vision benefits package?

Typically, a vision benefits package provides free eye care services and eyewear within fixed dollar amounts in exchange for an annual premium or membership fee and a relatively small co-pay (fixed dollar amount) each time you access a service.

A vision should include details about what your end goal will be like. Describe the consequences of fulfilling your plans. Phrases such as, “I want” and “I will” can be used sparingly and should relate to your feelings by the end of your plan. Write down the big WHYs of your vision.

Are vision express eye tests free?

Free eye tests at Vision Express We are currently not running any free eye test offers at the moment, however if you qualify for as NHS-funded eye test you can still book a free eye test with us. All children under the age of 16 and people over the age of 60 are entitled to a free eye test.

The traditional NHS sight test has been replaced by a comprehensive eye test. The new NHS eye test is not just an eye test for spectacles but an eye health assessment. The new test is free to all patients, in accordance with NHS terms and conditions. Eligible patients are entitled to a free NHS eye test every two years.
