Fortunately, it is both easy and free to change to a Windows 10 Home or Pro from Windows 10 S mode:
Click the START button
Click the settings cog 🔅
Select UPDATE & SECURITY
Select ACTIVATION
Find the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, then select the Go to the Store link Do not click the UPGRADE YOUR EDITION OF In the Microsoft Store you will see ( SWITCH OUT OF S MODE or a similar page), select the GET button., and more items.

That’s because for the most part, it’s exactly the same as Windows 10 Home. It has the same interface, most of the same settings, and the same pre-loaded apps. But Windows 10 S is severely limited in one key area compared to Windows 10 Home, and it’s an area that could well be a dealbreaker for you.

On your Windows 10 S PC on the ‘Activation’ tab there will be a section called ‘Switch to Windows 10 Home’. Here there should be an option to go to the Microsoft Store, which you should click. It’s important to note this is different to the ‘Upgrade your version of Windows’ section.
How to switch from s mode to home mode in Windows 10?
In the menu that opens, click on Settings. In the Settings window, click on Update and Security. In the Update window, click on Activation on the left-hand side. Look for the section Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro, click on Go to the Store. The Microsoft Store will open to the Switch out of S Mode page.
