Yammer is an internal social network that provides a simple way for DU to collaborate, share knowledge, and engage everyone across the University. You can join Yammer Communities, which are groups organized by topic or interest, and interact with colleagues and peers from any location at any time.

Yammer communities, which enable you to build relationships and share knowledge across teams and the entire organization, are now available in an app while working in Microsoft Teams. You can pin the Yammer Communities app to the left side of Microsoft Teams enabling you to engage with leaders, watch live events, ask questions, get answers, and stay up-to-date with news and announcements.

How to join a yammer community?
Click the Yammer tile in Microsoft 365. At the bottom-left corner of the screen, select Create a Community. Under Community Name, enter the name of your community. Tips: Use a short name so that it is easy for people to scan the list of communities. Under Members, enter the names or email addresses of anyone you want to add to the community. Under Who can view conversations and post messages, select one of the following: Public Access: Anyone on your network can view the content posted to this community and can join A default classification is selected under the Classification section. To change it, click Edit, and select the classification from the drop-down list.
These are the communities we’ve seen that showcase the power of Yammer and help to drive adoption. These examples could already exist, or they could use a bit of your help to get off the ground. Having influencers and purpose behind the Yammer community is a good first start.
We learned Only Yammer network admins can mark existing communities official in their network. To do this, follow these steps : In the community, click on the More Options ellipses. Under the Network admin options, click Mark Official Community. The badge will appear next to the community’s name.

The first step to joining a group is to find the group or groups you wish to join. You will want to focus on those that are relevant to your job, such as your team, projects, and department.
What is a Microsoft 365 Connected Yammer group?
When you create a Microsoft 365 connected group from Yammer, in addition to your regular Yammer group features, the new Microsoft 365 group is created, and a new Share. Point site and document library, One. Note notebook, and Planner are created for the group. These resources can be accessed from the Yammer group page in Yammer.
What is a network admin in Yammer?
As a Yammer community admin, a part of your role is to manage the members of your community. For managing Connected Groups in Yammer—for example, to perform tasks like managing members to a Yammer community backed by a Microsoft 365 group —Network Admins need to be the Group admins of that community.
