Tube channel, and prohibits that user from creating another You, and tube channel., you Tube assigns strikes based on reports of copyright violations from bots.
While I was writing we ran into the question “How do copyright strikes affect YouTubers?”.
According to You. Tube, copyright strikes can impact a user’s ability to monetize content. For example, if a You. Tuber uploads video content that includes copyrighted music, they won’t be able to monetize their content.
This begs the question “What is a copyright claim on YouTube?”
This is what I learned. A claim is a link between your video and the asset (Sound Recording, Music Video, Film, Video Game, etc) which appears in the video. It allows for content owners to monetize, track, block, or take down your video when it contains their copyrighted content.

Tube just enforces the law. As such, content ID claims and copyright strikes have to occur via proper screening and legal channels.

, you Tube is a platform for video sharing online and it is the users who are responsible for complying with the laws of copyright. If you upload a video that is infringing someone’s copyright, the owner of that copyright can inform You. Tube, who will then send you a warning and remove the video.
If by chance you need to take legal action in regards to the specific video, the court should recognize your effort to copyright the content even if the Copyright Office has not processed your registration. We’d like to reiterate that registration with the Copyright Office is not necessary to copyright your video.

If there are no further issues, full privileges will be restored automatically after the 2-week period. Each strike will not expire until 90 days from the time it was issued. Three strikes in the same 90-day period will result in your channel being permanently removed from You, and tube.
