The answer is no. Imessage is like instant messaging which uses cellular data or Wi-Fi, and so therefore it does not appear on the phone bill. There’s no way imessages will appear on a phone bill because it makes use of the data and is not a cellular network service.
From ATT’s view, it is just data and only shows on the bill as a data transfer (no other information included such as #) when using cellular data., any i Messages sent/received while on wifi aren’t on your bill or usage reports at all. *I am not an AT&T employee, and the views and opinions expressed on this forum are purely my own.
Neither android or i. OS seems to show on a att bill anymore. All data usage. But never missed a number until April 2020!!! Logic says that’s not true. One, because people have been complaining about it for YEARS, so it didn’t just happen last month.

And I know for a fact on my MyAT&T app ( under usage> View additional usage (full website)> select device number> choose between TEXT/DATA or TALK and what billing period you want to review) I’ve been able to see every Incoming/Outgoing text, weather it’s TXT/IM/MMS/SMS or data usage/mobile data.
