Ruler in adobe xd?

Adobe XD currently doesn’t ship with a ruler of any kind and it doesn’t seem like one will provided in the foreseeable future. This plugin bridges that gap and provides a versatile ruler to measure elements in an Artboard. Go to either Command Prompt on Windows or Terminal on Mac and type this command where you would like to install the plugin;.

Do one of the following: Drag down from the horizontal ruler to create a horizontal guide, or drag right from the vertical ruler to create a vertical guide .

Another frequent inquiry is “How do I move or delete a ruler guide?”.

Move or delete ruler guides. To move a guide, click the guide to select it and then drag it to a new location. To delete a guide, click the guide to select it and press the Delete key. To delete all guides, right-click in the ruler area and choose Clear All Guides or Clear Guides On Page.

Adobe XD Guides keep elements aligned and positioned easily. With the new artboard guide feature in Adobe XD, adding guides to artboards is as simple as pressing and dragging; and duplicating those guides is an absolute breeze. Let me show you what I mean. I’m working on a design flow here representing a mobile interface.

What’s new in Adobe XD component states?

How to use the pen tool in Adobe XD to create masks?

Use the pen tool in Adobe XD to create more complex mask shapes As with the first option, select both the shape and photo, use keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + M to mask.

The object on the bottom will be masked by the object on the top. So if you’d like to set your text as the mask to an image, ensure the text object is on top of the image layer, and then select your “Mask with object” (Shift+CMD+M) command to mask the image with the new text path. Creating a mask shape is very simple in Adobe XD.

Select Object > Mask with Shape (Mac. OS) or right-click the selected content and choose Mask with Shape (Windows). The portion of the image or drawing that is outside the shape is masked. To edit the content within the mask shape, double-click the masked content.

The technique is creating a clipping mask, which is a method that allows you mask images within an object so only the shape/object is visible. I use the technique almost every time when working on a project within adobe XD, and i’m sure once you know how you will also do the same.
